COMPETITIVE PLAY

Depending on enrollment, we offer a 14U (at least 5th grade, age 14 or under), a Junior Varsity, and/or Varsity team.

TRYOUTS AND PARENT MEETING : 1ST WEEK OF APRIL

Tryouts to be placed on a Northland Royals team and parent meeting occur during the first week of April.

SPRING TRAINING : APRIL - MAY

Spring Training begins after tryouts and is mandatory for those who wish to play competitively during the fall game season. Exceptions are made for players who play club volleyball in the spring. Spring is the time when the teams are formed, players learn their positions and learn to play as a team. There are 2 practices per week, typically Mondays and Thursdays.

SUMMER BREAK : JUNE - JULY

The Royals take a break during the summer. Although not required, we highly encourage players to keep up their skills with a summer camp hosted by a number of clubs in the area.

GAME SEASON : MID AUGUST - OCTOBER

Practices resume the second week of August. Games usually begin the third week of August and the game season ends the third week of October with our annual Sports Banquet. Practices are held twice per week in Barrington, currently on Mondays and Thursdays. Games occur on varying days of the week, except Sunday, and are played in varying locations, typically within an hour radius of Barrington, with the exception of a possible out-of-town tournament for the JV/Varsity teams.

14U TEAM

$400* ($200 due in April and $200* due in August)

Includes Tryouts, Spring Training, and the Game Season: ~10 games and 1 tournament.

JV/VARSITY TEAM

$450* ($200 due in April and $250* due in August)

Includes Tryouts, Spring Training, and the Game Season: ~16 games and 2-3 tournaments.

Sibling and family discounts are available.
